Just wondering if the direct fire method for searing is really necessary. The other grill I am looking at is the Pit Boss Laredo 1000. It just went on sale at Walmart, but the Oakmont is still $100 less, and at best what I can see difference is a non PID controller (but still has Wifi) and it doesn't have a direct fire sear method..
