Officially accepts AA or 14500 battery witch is a huge upgrade. 14500 give it waaaaaay more power, last longer and is rechargeable. If you want to spend a little more, another awesome AA light that also accepts a 14500 is the "EAGTAC D25A MARK II" This is my go to EDC flashlight.
